May 2025 Spotlight Closet features Sarah Rubinoff. Known as an actress, writer, and singer, Sarah has been making theatrical work in Seattle for 30 years. As an actress, she has performed roles in every major theatre in Seattle and has sung and performed cabaret at venues all over the country.

Sarah won a Stranger Genius Award in theater, many Footlight Awards from the Seattle Times and was included in the book and PBS Special, Seattle 100-Portrait of a City chronicling Seattleites who drive culture in the city.

Sarah’s 2024 retrospective album Together is a love letter to her communities: the cabaret world, the theatre scene, the rock clubs. Made in our city of Seattle, together. CDs available for purchase at Two Big Blondes!

“I grew up on Kauai in Hawaii and I loved clothes from an early age. It was my mission to find cute clothes. From silky Dove shorts and Chic jeans of my 1970s childhood to skinny ties, baby doll dresses of the ‘80s and ‘90s. I was a hunter of clothes- and you had to hunt back in the day because it was very hard to find plus-size clothes that were fun, varied and fashionable. I loved getting in costumes for the theatre- having dresses made for me for the first time was a thrill! I have always loved to represent big girls on the stage; show us falling in love, ruling a country or being a pain in the ass. We are everywhere and we are so lucky that Two Big Blondes is in Seattle offering a place to recycle and change up our wardrobes in style.”

Sarah's Spotlight Closet is full of retro & vintage pieces, artwear from boutique designers and TBB favs like Fluevog, Beth Ditto, Wray and marimekko. Most are in sizes 14-18 with a few pieces in 20/22.
