Our TBB+YOU Campaign is raising funds to support Two Big Blondes as we complete a renovation project to uplift our retail space and create a photo studio for our online shop. 
Two Big Blondes received funding from the City of Seattle in 2023 through the Tenant Improvement Fund (TIF) that will primarily fund these renovations. TIF recipients are small businesses that were financially impacted by COVID, make a positive impact in their community, and have a business plan to address the COVID impacts.
We are honored to have received letters of support from our neighborhood organizations - including the Central Area Collaborative, the Colman Neighborhood Association, the GSBA, and H.O.P.E. Center Resources - that helped us to secure this award.
We have been, and continue to be, impacted financially by the COVID pandemic. Beyond the initial loss of revenue during the shut-down, fashion shopping needs & behaviors have permanently changed! While we have made some adjustments in the subsequent years, it has become clear that we need to create additional opportunities to keep afloat & get back to profit.
With so many people shopping online now, our plan includes an upgrade & expansion of our online shop. We have the inventory (thousands of items in store) and there is an increasing demand for secondhand plus-size clothing. With this funding, we are developing upgrades to our website and creating a photo studio & efficient work area for uploading items to our online shop. The retail space upgrades will help us make some long-needed repairs (a new floor!) as well as help elevate the space to match the quality of our product.

We have received so much support from our Two Big Blondes community in the last few years! I have resisted fundraising so far, relying mostly on the grants & loans (primarily the SBA disaster loan) we received at the beginning of the pandemic. While the City funding will cover most of the renovations, we do need additional funds to get through the year and complete the projects.
Funds raised will support:
- Staff salaries while we are closed for renovations
- Photo studio equipment
- Website upgrades
- Additional renovation expenses not covered by the City’s funding including painting & updated retail fixtures
How you can support our campaign:
To raise these additional funds we are selling coupons through the end of 2023 that you can redeem in 2024 for discounts & special rewards! There are in-store & online versions. You can add an additional monetary gift to the coupons to or give directly in $25 increments. If you’re feeling very generous and have the ability, you can be a Bestie or the Best-est with a VIP package that gives you all of the above plus some extra special VIP perks. You can also support us by sharing our campaign with anyone who supports making plus-size, sustainable clothing options available to more people while supporting a small, community-based, woman-owned business.

Our Storewide Pre-Sales will take place the day before our storewide sale opens to the public. There will be shopping sessions with limited occupancy so you can get first pick on great deals up to 90% or 95% off and shop without a crowd! The coupon purchase guarantees a spot. Reservations & shopping session timing will be determined closer to the date of the sale.
Day One of the Bag Sale is the first day of the bag sale by appointment, so you can shop our bag sale with no waiting outside and limited occupancy. Last time we scheduled day one the 40 spots filled up in 7 minutes! The coupon purchase guarantees a spot. Reservations & shopping session timing will be determined closer to the date of the sale.
$50 Coupon use:
In-Store: 25% off coupons can be used once during the quarter for which they were purchased. Maximum discount is $50. They are not valid during storewide sales, but otherwise can used at any time and combined with other discounts & reward coupons. 25% off will be calculated on the total amount due pre-tax and after other discounts. The discount can be used on layaways at the time the layaway is being paid off, not when it is created.

Personalized Styling Session:
With the purchase of the Bestie or Bestest Package, you will receive a personal styling session that includes an initial phone consultation to determine your goals & style needs plus a two-hour in-person or virtual meeting to review items we select for you. We will also create a wish list for items we may not have in our inventory at the time of the appointment and will send you additional options throughout the year. Consultation & meeting will be scheduled based on customer & staff availability.
Priority Consignment Scheduling:
With the purchase of the Bestest Package, you will receive priority consignment scheduling. When you request a consignment review or drop-off appointment, we will schedule you at the earliest possible opening based on your requested time, number of items, and staff availability, typically within one week of the request. With current appointment wait times up to 4-6 weeks, this VIP status allows you to “skip the line” and bring in your consignment as soon as possible!
Store Closure:
Two Big Blondes will be CLOSED November 19th to December 5th to complete the renovations to our retail space. We will RE-OPEN on Wednesday, December 6th with our Holiday Storewide Sale December 6th – 9th.
Consignment Information:
To accommodate additional incoming consignment prior to our store closure, we will be accepting walk-in, drop-offs of up to 30 items Tuesday, November 14th – Saturday, November 18th from 11AM – 5PM.
No consignment will be accepted November 19th through December 11th due to our renovations & storewide sale. See all consignment availability in our Fall & Winter Consignment post.
